NY Yankees in the 1950's also had a pimp on the payroll

The NY POST writes that in a "Celebrity Secrets: Government Files of the Rich and Famous" author Nick Redfern discusses an FBI probe into a blackmail plot against Mickey Mantle for $15k. Apparently there were some photos of him with a married woman.

Later on, the author reveals that in 1957 there was a D.C. based bookie who would arrange dates for the the Yankees players at a "house of prostitution". Visitors included Mantle.
FYI- The Yankees lost to the Braves in the World Series that year. Perhaps they werent focused enough.....
